Sales Engineer

Location: USA
Type: Full-time or consultant

Simphotek is seeking a Photonics Software Sales Engineer to build a customer network. This position is based out of our office in central New Jersey. Our main product is a new type of Photonics simulation software which allows modeling wide range of interactions of lasers and nonlinear/linear absorbing or energy transfer materials, widely used in military, life-science, optical communications applications.

The target customers are using or interested in using simulation software for developing new and optimizing existing optical materials in Universities, National labs, and Industry.

Job description:

  • Build and support customer network of optics professionals in industry, government labs, and academia in North America.
  • Meet annual and quarterly sales targets.
  • Network and cold-call to engage and qualify opportunities.
  • Contribute to designing price strategies and spearhead promotion initiatives.
  • Attend optics conferences to increase customer awareness and search for new opportunities.
  • Work closely with Simphotek R&D team to assess new opportunities from customers’ feedback and reflecting the trends in industry.
  • Make or recommend new product features to R&D team.
  • Initiate collaboration with leading players in the market.
  • Travel to show software demonstrations and technical seminars to reach both potential and existing customers.
  • Collect marketing data to build sale strategies.
  • Will consider an experienced consultant.

Requirements:

  • PhD preferred, Bachelor degree minimum requirement with strong communication skill.
  • Major in laser, optics, opto-electronics or related field is a strong plus.
  • Successful record of sales and involvement in marketing of optics simulation software is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and to grow rapidly the customer base.
  • Established network of clients in optics community.
  • Strong sales and professional negotiating skills.
  • PC skills.
  • Computer science background is a plus.
  • Proven sales track record of meeting goals.
  • Able to work under tight timelines and pressure.
  • Open-minded, self-motivated and quick learner.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English.



Consulting, laser optics

Location: USA, Canada

Simphotek is seeking a Consultant with an industry/technical background in laser optics. The consultant can be based in the US or Canada, but available for interactions with Simphotek staff by phone and/or computer. Our main product is a new type of Photonics simulation software which allows modeling wide range of interactions of lasers and nonlinear/linear absorbing, energy transfer/up-conversion, fluorescent, and chemical reaction materials widely used in military, life-science, and optical communications applications. Simphotek plans to extend its unique computing algorithm to laser optics.

The target customers are using or interested in using simulation software for developing new and optimizing existing optical materials in Universities, National labs, and Industry.

  • Create summary/report on general know-how and current problems in laser optics.
  • Work closely with Simphotek R&D team to assess new trends in industry.
  • Recommend/review new features to R&D team.
  • Initiate contact/collaboration with leading players in the market.
  • Collect/review marketing data to build background in laser optics industry.

Requirements:

  • PhD preferred, Masters minimum with strong communication skill and math/optics knowledge at the Masters level minimum.
  • Experience in laser optics in industry, government labs, academia-at least one area minimum, other areas a plus.
  • Knowledge of pump-probe laser experiments and/or mathematical analysis; knowledge of fiber lasers a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, comprehensive, insightful summaries/reports.
  • Established network of contacts in laser optics community.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English.



Consulting, bio-molecular optics

Location: USA, Canada

Simphotek is seeking a Consultant with an industry/technical background in biological flow cytometry, biomolecular fluorescence probes and fluorescent microscopy. The consultant can be based in the US or Canada, but available for interactions with Simphotek staff by phone and/or computer. Our main product is a new type of Photonics simulation software which allows modeling wide range of interactions of lasers and nonlinear/linear absorbing, energy transfer/up-conversion, fluorescent, and chemical reaction materials widely used in military, life-science, and optical communications applications.

Job description:

  • Create summary/report on general know-how and current problems in biomolecular flow cytometry, fluorescent probes, and biological microscopy.
  • Work closely with Simphotek R&D team to assess new trends in industry.
  • Recommend/review new features to R&D team.
  • Initiate contact/collaboration with leading players in the market.
  • Collect/review marketing data to build background in laser-matter interactions used in biomolecular probe industry.

Requirements:

  • PhD preferred, Masters degree minimum requirement with strong communication skill.
  • Experience in biomolecular optics in industry, government labs, academia.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, comprehensive, insightful summaries.
  • Established network of contacts in biomedical optics community.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English.
