          — iconic building blocks linking the GUI interface to the mathematical kernel — that perform the task of traditional code writing. You may configure a coherent light source and design test samples comprising multiple layers of materials; the test material layers are photoactive species dispersed in a non-absorbing medium. You define the material properties (index of refraction, single or multi-photon absorption coefficients, electron relaxation times, laser wavelength and pulse width, sample length, and single or multiple combinations of different materials) and electronic structure (energy levels, allowed transitions). SimphoSOFT then simulates laser beam propagation through the sample, giving time and location dependent field strength, dynamic population densities of every level, and plots of results.
